Free Beginner Fencing Lessons

Fencing has a history that has evolved over centuries; from ancient Egypt and Rome to the Dark Ages, and from the Renaissance to the modern fencing of today. Have you ever wanted to try fencing? I have. It looks like it would be a lot of fun and a good workout too. I’ve been meaning to get to a fencing lesson all summer, but scheduling conflicts have kept me from attending a class.

Free fencing lessons have been going on in Bryant Park since the beginning of April. Lessons are taught by masters from the Manhattan Fencing Center every Wednesday from 1-2pm. All equipment is provided and no prior experience is necessary. The only request is that you pre-register by calling 212-382-2255, but you can also take a chance and stop by if you’re in the area.

It’s not too late to give a stab :) They have 2 more classes being offered before they are done for the season. This Wednesday, October 5th and next week on the 12th. I’m actually off this Wednesday and next Wednesday, so I’ve got my fingers crossed for good weather and I’m hoping to get out there and give it a try.

Let’s try something new together!~ Love, agirltravels
