Yesterday I went into the city to find a dress for the upcoming Rising Stars Enterprise Inc. Charity Launch Party and to check the Union Square Holiday Market. I had no luck finding a dress, but the market was definitely worth checking out. There are over 100 merchants in the market and it was a nice Sunday afternoon with lots of people out doing their holiday shopping, so it was a little overwhelming trying to see everything and squeeze my way through the crowd. I started on the outer ring and worked my way around the market. There are so many different items for sale and lots of vendors to pick up goodies to snack on while you shop. I plan to go back during the week when it’s not as crowded.
The market opened on November 18th and will remain open until December 24th. So there’s plenty of time to pick up something unique for your friends and family.
Some of the items you will find this year include:
- Hand-blown glass housewares
- Spices
- Bags and accessories made from recycled plastic
- A variety of handmade jewelry
- Gloves…hats…Tibetan crafts…and more
There is an information booth available to help you to find something specific, and they can also advise you on the neighborhood and where to find a place to have dinner and/or a cozy spot to have a glass of wine and celebrate the end of your holiday shopping!
Hours of Operation:
- Monday – Friday, 11:00am to 8:00pm
- Saturday, 10:00am to 8:00pm
- Sunday, 11:00am to 7:00pm
I had a chance to go check this out on Sunday and I must say they have alot of different shops out there. If anyone is close to Union Square they should definitely go to the market and see what they have…
