In the car, on the plane, a train ride, or waiting at the airport – wherever I am I like to listen to music and people watch when I’m not chatting up fellow travelers . My travel playlist gets new additions whenever I finally break away from my iPod and listen to the radio and hear new songs that have come out. You’ll always find some oldies in the mix though. I love it all; Classical, Jazz, Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Alternative, Christian, Gospel, etc…Here’s a list of 20 songs currently on my travel playlist (in no particular order):
- Adorn – Miguel
- New Day – Alicia Keys
- Hello – Karmin
- Diamonds – Rihanna
- I Cry – Flo Rida
- The Point of it All – Anthony Hamilton
- Don’t Make Em Like You – Ne-Yo
- Locked Out of Heaven – Bruno Mars
- I Knew You Were Trouble – Taylor Swift
- Next to Me – Emeli Sande
- Can’t Hold Us – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
- Wonder – Emeli Sande
- Higher Than This – Ledisi
- Pieces of Me – Ledisi
- American Honey – Lady Antebellum
- County Line – Sugarland
- Chariot – Gavin Degraw
- Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing – Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
- Learn to Fly – Foo Fighters
- Hey, Soul Sister – Train
Now, what typically tends to happen (all my friends love this….ok, not so much) is one song on the playlist will instantly become my favorite (it’s the Pisces in me), perhaps depending on my mood or maybe the beat and melody of the song… whatever the reason I will listen to that one song on repeat for hours on end. When I flew to Miami last month, I listened to the same song the entire 2 1/2 hour flight. Same thing happened when I drove to D.C….it was me and Alicia for 4 hours southbound on I95.
Now, when other people travel with me I try to reel it in a bit. I try to a least keep it to a maximum of 5 times in a day (not consecutively) because I understand that everyone does not understand or necessarily enjoy my obsession for listening to songs on repeat…Apparently I’ve ruined a couple of songs for one of my best friends that way…
she seems to be surviving ok though, I’ll update you if things change. What’s the soundtrack to your next travel adventure? Any songs currently on repeat?
Wishing you safe travels! -xo AGT
