Tis The Season To Give – Giveaway #3 Spread A Little Holiday Cheer

This is the final giveaway for in the Season To Give postings. I’ve enjoyed reading all of your comments and am thankful for your participation. Today’s giveaway is sponsored by author/singer/songwriter Michael Sheahan and will help to add a little Holiday cheer to your home :)

The winner will receive a brand new copy of his latest Christmas CD and his Children’s Book/CD/DVD The Rooftop Hop! I’ve been listening to the CD for the past week in my car and I LOVE it! ‘Year Out…Year In’ and ‘A Jack Frost Christmas’ are two of my favorites!

During an interview with Michael I learned that he began his career in music and dance as a very young boy, winning worldwide international competitions playing the violin, accordion, tin whistle, flute, and banjo! By the time Michael was nine years old he had performed in front of thousands of people in prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, NY. Michael spent several seasons singing professionally with the NY Metropolitan Opera performing in both the Children’s Chorus and as a Soloist and performed in Verdi’s “Aida”, and Wagner’s “Lohengrin”.

His love of celebrating the Holidays with his wife Barbara and three boys inspired him to create the character Mr. Holidays, along with an entire series of characters, songs, books, and dances that cherish the values, warmth, and traditions of each Holiday. The book is award winning, recently winning 2 Moonbeam Awards for Best Holiday Book and Best Book with Music/Theatrical and critically acclaimed. Check out more of my interview with Michael here.

Tis the Season To Give – Giveaway #1

The holidays are fast approaching and we are entering the season to give. The time to think of others – those we know and love and those in need that we have never met.. Of course anytime is a time to give, but we always feel alittle more inclined to give back just a little bit more during the holidays because it’s a time of family and friends, and we want to help those who are without.

Now, more than ever with the impact that Hurricane Sandy has had on the NY/NJ area we are all looking for ways to help. You can buy local products and dine out to support local businesses if you are the NY/NJ area, and you can also visit these websites to find more ways to help:

I have 3 giveways prepared for my fabulous readers and the first one kicks off today! The NYC area has tons of small businesses that were impacted during the hurricane, so today’s giveaway is dedicated to small businesses in Brooklyn, and is sponsered by Moi :) I LOVE buying local when I can!

Bring a little bit of Brooklyn home with you, or share it with someone else :)  Enter for you chance to win:

Happy New Year!!!

It’s time to take on another year! How did you ring in the new year? A few days before NYE I decided to throw a cocktail party at my house, and I’m so glad I did. I went back and forth for weeks on whether to throw a party or to party it up in the city, but in the end it was great to ring in 2012 with friends and family in the comfort of my own apartment. There was food, games, dancing, and of course a champagne toast as we counted down the seconds into the new year.

Of course no new year is complete without a new year’s resolution or two. Mine are to:

  • Blog regularly
  • Try something new
  • Workout 3-4 times a week
  • Save more money
  • Get more involved in community activities
  • Train for and run the Staten Island Half Marathon

This is my last full year in NYC, so I plan to really be active and do as much as I can while I’m here.

Here’s to 2012!!!

Love AGT :)
