Sponsored Post: By the Sea is Where I Long to Be

I love everything about the beach – sand, sun, and refreshing ocean waves. What more could a Pisces girl ask for?

Any chance I have to hit the beach I’m there, especially if its for a celebration. Which is why I’m heading to Aruba for the first time for a joint birthday celebration for my best friend and I the 2nd week of March next year. We’ve already reserved a condo, sent out the invites, and are getting everything together for our big island celebration.

I’m really looking forward to discovering the island’s hidden gems, relaxing on it’s beautiful beaches, waterskiing, snorkeling, and lounging with a tropical drink in hand. Turquoise waters, kissed by the sun and cooled by constant trade winds, much of the seven-mile strip along the west coast is lined with resorts and packed with activity. And on the windward coast they have some amazing coves carved out of limestone and inlets to explore.

During the day it’ll be beaches and exploring – natural wonders throughout Arikok National Park, the Casibari and Ayo rock formations and Indian caves. And night we’ll be mingling with locals and tourists at beach parties and and pier bars that dot the southwest coast from downtown Oranjestad to the far end of the high-rise strip.

Whether you’re a foodie, the adventure type, or a beach bum, Aruba has everything at you want at your fingertips!

I can’t wait to sink my toes into warm sand, feel the sun on my skin, feel the water as the waves roll gently onto the sand, and to dine al fresco on the beach with an umbrella drink in hand. Caribbean beaches are truly paradise and I’m counting down the days to my trip to Aruba!

What’s your favorite part of a Caribbean vacation? Food? Beaches? Nightlife? Adventure?

On the northeast coast of the United States, New York City draws tourists of all ages yearround. For couples, New York City represents the theater, fine dining, and famous historical landmarks. For a reasonably priced hotel, concierge service and central prime location, stay at the Mariott Marquis on Broadway. Since this is the Theater District, odds are favorable to be able to walk to most of the shows. Take the subway south to Little Italy for a memorable lunch. Becoming America’s first pizzeria in 1905, Lombardi’s pizza is as impressive as the atmosphere. Consider New York City Real Estate when travelling as a means to stay indefinitely.

Known for the largest beaches in the Caribbean, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic specializes in the comfort of tourists. For that extra touch, the Riu Macau delivers timely services, immaculate rooms and a long stretch of beach. Opt for an all inclusive package and find that the dining on site is exquisite. At Kabuki, reservations are required in advance as it is a specialty restaurant. Choose to arrive at this Japanese establishment in casual or formal attire, but footwear is not optional. To dine at a spectacular restaurant a short drive from the resort, the Blue Marlin boasts its own fleet of boats that supply the daily fresh catch. Located at the Sanctuary Cap Cana Resort, the restaurant supports a Fantasy Island theme.

Only a short flight from the mainland, the island of Bermuda represents an array of pink sand beaches and a European lifestyle. In the town of Hamilton, Flanagan’s Irish Pub is appropriate for couples, families and larger parties. Offering two bars and a stage, the Guiness flows freely each night. Don’t leave without trying the Bermuda Onion Soup or Queen Cut Rib. For a reasonably priced hotel, the Coco Reef Resort in Paget Parish features original art and wicker furniture in each room. Walk along the shore to Mickey’s Beach Bistro for fantastic Mediterranean fare.

Charter a flight to Aruba, just 17 miles north of South America to experience exciting party boat tours, interesting landscape and Dutch architecture. Reserve a couple’s retreat or family vacation at the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino in the capital of Oranjestad. At the Renaissance, guests can indulge in gambling, a private beach and an exclusive spa. Plan an evening out at The Lounge, Midnight Grill for an American style all night buffet. Off site, experience dining on the beach at the Flying Fishbone. Specializing in seafood, this footwear optional restaurant provides fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

During winter months where snow is a sure thing, a trip to Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine’s Carrabassett Valley provides the best ski vacation on the east coast. Stay at a condo on the mountain’s property for a ski in, ski out experience. Either dine at a mountain base restaurant or ride a Sno-Cat up the mountain for a four-course candlelight dinner at Bullwinkles. Serving the most varied menu at mountain base is Gepetto’s.
