EMERGE! Fashion Runway Show, created and produced by Dionne Williams of D. Williams Public Relations Group, has become one of the top emerging designer platforms during New York Fashion week. Every year hundreds of designer submissions are reviewed by an elite designer committee and this year’s 5 AMAZING designers chosen to unveil their newest collections to retail buyers, fashion editors, and fashion influencers are;
Hosted by Carissa Rosario and Justiin Davis, this was such an amazing show to attend – to feel the energy and to see the hard work of emerging designers all come together for one night on the runway during NY Fashion Week – definitely one of my favorites! Each designer had something for me to fall in love with, and I had the opportunity to hit the red carpet to meet the designers, models, and some of the honored guests.
Each season, EMERGE! presents the coveted ‘Fashion Innovator Award’. This year EMERGE! honored, living fashion and style Icon,Mikki Taylor.
Past award recipients have included, Audry Smaltz, President of the Ground Grew (presented to her by Harriette Cole); Constance C.R. White, Editor in Chief of Essence Magazine (presented to her by Tracy Reese); Andre’ Leon Talley, contributing editor of Vogue (presented to him by Diane Von Furstenberg).
I’ll be kicking of New York Fashion Week (NYFW) with the launch of Midtown’s newest luxury addition, LASIO STUDIOS.

jlehsik Fall 2013 Fashion Presentation Runway Show
Always taking its vision a step further, jlehsiek takes inspiration from the 18th Century European ‘salon,’ for their 2013 show. Commonly associated with French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries, salons would feature refined discussions about popular culture, literature and philosophy. Salons also served as schools of higher learning for French women of the era, as many were not seeking schooling to build toward careers; these environments provided an opportunity for women of class to demonstrate their intellectual prowess and to learn from one another. Jlehsiek, will reconstruct the concept of a modern day salon within the context of Caribbean lifestyle and architecture. In addition to a breath-taking collection by jlehsiek, guests will be privy to images of Trinidad and Tobago folklore, poetry, stories, and fashion influences to celebrate the rise of the independent nation of Trinidad and Tobago, the nation of origin for designer Keishel Williams. Atlantic Audi presents an “Eye For Fashion and a Heart of Compassion”
The Runway Charity Benefit Fashion Show to benefit families on Long Island affected by Hurricane Sandy. Eye for Fashion and a Heart of Compassion runway show will be a tribute to the Fashion Industry. This wonderful philanthropic event is designed to give back and empower minds and lives through fashion and compassion while showcasing the work of an emerging designer. The events mission, now in its second year is to spread compassion, give hope and encouragement.
And I’ll still be in the office for work, taking meetings, doing interviews, training for my upcoming half marathon in 2 weeks, and getting ready for an event that I’ll be the official media sponsor for!
