STG Presents – Networking On a Boat!

Last week, in between Fleet Week events I had the pleasure of joining Smart Transition Group and World Yacht for a night of dinner, drinks, and networking as we cruised around NY Harbor. We gathered at Pier 81 for check in and boarding, then toasted to an evening of fun, networking, and a thanks to sponsors before getting underway.

I’ve taken a few party boat and dinner boat cruises around NY Harbor, but never an event dedicated to networking, and this was my first encounter with STG. This exclusive event hosted 100 professionals from various companies around NYC from 6:30pm to 9:30pm and cruised along the Hudson and East Rivers.

Dinner, scotch tastings, champagne tastings, and cigars were provided throughout the night, and Belly Dancers from Valeria Entertainment captivated the room and encouraged everyone onto the dance floor. After their performance the DJ kept everyone dancing until we pulled back into Pier 81.

I had such a good time meeting new people, learning about STG, sampling scotch, tasting champagne, and learning to belly dance. Now I want to take some lessons! NYC is such a beautiful city! I’m so happy I have the opportunity to live here, be involved in the various communities, and meet new people. There’s so much to see and d0! Get out, explore, and network!

I had the opprotunity to participate in some pretty awesome events when I wasn’t in the office:

~ Will Smith’s Men In Black III cast party and interview with Good Morning America at the Intrepid Air and Sea Museum. When my supervisor asked for volunteers I was the first one to raise my hand and I barely slept the night before the event. I’ve been a fan of Will Smith for years and it was very cool to actually meet him in person. I was even more excited to find out that our picture is on People Magazine‘s website too! Check it out!

~ A private concert for Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen at the Beacon Theater where Kip Moore and Tim McGraw performed. Definitely one of THE BEST concerts I’ve been to in a while.
