Mardi Paws – Back to Black

Last Saturday, I attended the Mardi Paws – Back to Black event hosted by Celebrity Catwalk. Fabulously dressed pups and parents bid on silent auction items like collars, leashes, pet carriers, and clothing, got their caricatures drawn, participated in a pets and their people competition, and danced the night away in support of homeless animals.

The Com’paw’tition grand prize winner won a trip to Cancun! So jealous! I should have dressed up a pup and participated. Check out the grand prize winner and her sweet pup Z Zee Zeins, notice her cute pink nails :)

About Celebrity Catwalk –

“Every year in Hollywood & NYC , top celebrities lend their time & talent for charity, raising funds and awareness for National Animal Rescue. Between 6-8 million dogs & cats enter shelters each year. Proceeds from Celebrity Catwalk go directly to non-profit organizations who work tirelessly to put a dent in those staggering statistics. With the help of today’s hottest designers, stars from film and television participate as celebrity models in this highly anticipated fashion & lifestyle event.” – Celebrity Catwalk

This was my first Celebrity Catwalk event, and I’m looking forward to attending more in the future. I had such a great time playing with pups, meeting new people, and helping to support homeless animals.

Week in a Day

I can’t believe it’s March already! This past week has been a bit of a blur, so much so that I’ve barely had time to sit down and get any blogging done. It doesn’t appear to be slowing down, so I’m just going to have to really make more time – it’s one of my New Year’s resolutions to be consistent with blog posts. Speaking of New Year’s resolutions…how many of you are still working on yours? or have you given up on them?

For past week I’ve attended the Gossip Meet Couture Magazine launch party, sipped tea and coffee at the Coffee and Tea Festival, played with puppies at a Pre-Party for the Mardi Paws event later this month, volunteered at the Black Tie Black Jack event with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, visited my friends wellness center upstate, and watched an exciting Knicks game against the Cavaliers. I’m really going to miss this city when it’s time to move on to a new duty station.

Volunteering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society was awesome, and I’ve signed up to do more volunteer work with them and I’m looking into participating in Team in Training. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do yet, but I’m leaning towards a half marathon. I’ve also signed up to do some volunteer work with PAWS NY – just registered for my orientation and signed up to assist the NY Road Runners with some upcoming races.

So I’ve been looking over my NY/NE list and my list of 101 things to do in the next 1001 days…which I should probably print out and post on my fridge or something….and I’m making plans to cross a few things off of my list. I’m going to get a new tattoo, and for my birthday ( in T Minus 13 days) I’m going to take a road trip to Montreal. I really felt the urge to make the trip when I went to visit my friend upstate because I kept seeing signs on the NY Thruway. I’m working on finalizing the trip details this week. If anyone has any recommendations on things to do or places to stay please send them my way. -xoxo
