Week in a Day

I can’t believe it’s March already! This past week has been a bit of a blur, so much so that I’ve barely had time to sit down and get any blogging done. It doesn’t appear to be slowing down, so I’m just going to have to really make more time – it’s one of my New Year’s resolutions to be consistent with blog posts. Speaking of New Year’s resolutions…how many of you are still working on yours? or have you given up on them?

For past week I’ve attended the Gossip Meet Couture Magazine launch party, sipped tea and coffee at the Coffee and Tea Festival, played with puppies at a Pre-Party for the Mardi Paws event later this month, volunteered at the Black Tie Black Jack event with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, visited my friends wellness center upstate, and watched an exciting Knicks game against the Cavaliers. I’m really going to miss this city when it’s time to move on to a new duty station.

Volunteering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society was awesome, and I’ve signed up to do more volunteer work with them and I’m looking into participating in Team in Training. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do yet, but I’m leaning towards a half marathon. I’ve also signed up to do some volunteer work with PAWS NY – just registered for my orientation and signed up to assist the NY Road Runners with some upcoming races.

So I’ve been looking over my NY/NE list and my list of 101 things to do in the next 1001 days…which I should probably print out and post on my fridge or something….and I’m making plans to cross a few things off of my list. I’m going to get a new tattoo, and for my birthday ( in T Minus 13 days) I’m going to take a road trip to Montreal. I really felt the urge to make the trip when I went to visit my friend upstate because I kept seeing signs on the NY Thruway. I’m working on finalizing the trip details this week. If anyone has any recommendations on things to do or places to stay please send them my way. -xoxo

Are you looking for ways to help this holiday season? Check out the annual PAWS NY event on Sunday, November 20th from 4 to 7 pm at SLATE (54 West 21st Street, NYC)!

Tickets are $25, and 100% of that goes directly to their mission of helping to keep people and pets together during difficult times.

With your ticket purchase, you will receive delicious hors d’oeuvres, drink specials and a chance to win one of our fabulous packages (prizes include gift certificate to The Meatball Shop, a spa gift certificate, wine, doggy day care membership, and more!). You will also have an opportunity to play ping pong and enter a variety of billiard competitions. You won’t want to miss it!

I unfortunately won’t be able to attend because I’ll be in Boston, but I am looking into volunteering with this organization and being apart of future events. If you are looking for ways to give back to your community this is a great opportunity! If you are able to attend the event I’d love to hear all about it! You can email me or post a comment below.

Check it out! And have fun helping make a difference in the lives of people and their pets! To purchase tickets, please visit: http://pawsny.org/events
