2012 NFL Draft Week Experience

Last month, I attended the 3rd annual NFL draft week experience, presented by TR Luxury and Brewer Sports International. The four-day series of events included a number of high profile attendees and were held in recognition of the NFL Draft, one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year after the Super Bowl.  Each event provided the essential backdrop for current NFL rookies, celebrities, and fan-favored veterans to welcome the league’s most exciting prospects along with top-tier vendors, brands and attendees under one roof.  Industry leaders, entertainers, media personalities, guests, hosts and brand ambassadors networked all while enjoying Life Mixed With Style, TR Luxury’s mantra.

The week kicked off with event sponsor Audi Manhattan hosting the 3rd Annual Luxury Suite, a fundraiser in support of the Council for Unity (CFU) Foundation. Guests were treated to a private preview of the German luxury car manufacturer’s new fleet of vehicles including beloved car of the evening, the R8 supercar.  Mobile technology leader, Blackberry, provided attendees with demo sessions for their tablet, the new PlayBook (one was auctioned off to a special guest) and their new mobile devises, the Blackberry Bold and Torch.  Grey Goose unveiled their new flavor, Cherry Noir, and guests savored the delicate taste of cherries in an atmosphere synonymous with the pinnacle of automotive excellence.   A portion of the proceeds from the fundraiser went to the Council for Unity Foundation, a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization that has specialized in reducing violence in schools and communities for more than 30 years.  Representatives from CFU whom were present expressed a deep appreciation for being selected as this year’s beneficiary.

The 3rd Draft Week Experience also included the Art of Luxury Gifting and Grooming Suite that took place at the luxurious Toshi’s Living Room at the Flatiron Hotel. The unique full day gifting, grooming and confection tasting experience provided players, top draft picks, celebrities, and attendees with an opportunity to sample a myriad of cocktails and desserts, amidst a handful of the industry’s favored fashion houses and grooming products and brands. The excitement of the Art of Luxury Gifting and Grooming Suite carried on into the evening at a private event, hosted by New York Giants very own Ramses Barden, allowing VIP guests the opportunity to unwind, relax or dance the night away.

Thursday’s Blackberry Watch Experience raised the bar for NFL Draft Week events as guests had the opportunity to catch the draft highlights on jumbo screens while again testing first-hand, Blackberry’s newest gadgets.  Tastemakers, corporate executives and all-around football fans were able to mingle with event host New York Jets veteran cornerback and Visionary Moments, CEO and Founder Donald Strickland.  Donald intrigued guests with Visionary Moments new consumer memorabilia audio and video display case line.

The series of events ended with the All Star NFL Draft Week Finale Celebration at Pranna Restaurant which was a fitting end to this year’s 3rd Annual NFL Draft Week Experience as the flashing bulbs from the red carpet and Grey Goose Cherry Noir specialty cocktails left guests wanting more. . .they will have to wait until next year to do it all again!
