Choice Streets – Food Truck Tasting Day

Last night was the 5th Annual Food Truck Tasting Event, hosted by the Village Voice at the Intrepid Pier. The food and the views were amazing, and the Intrepid was the perfect backdrop. The weather held up for the event, although I was missing the near 80 degree temps we had a couple of weeks ago.

20+ food trucks lined the pier on one side and on the other were several stations with complimentary cocktails, beer, and wine. Some of my favorite trucks were the Taim Mobile for their falafels, NYC Healthy Bites for their vegetarian hotdogs, and the Morris Grilled Cheese Truck – need I say more?.

I’m sad that I missed the Red Hook Lobster Truck though, when I got there they had no more food left for tasting. I should have made that my first stop. Guess I’ll have to keep a lookout for them around the city.
