This weekend in Soho, Clean Plates and Openhouse along with yumspring have partnered to close down summer with the tastiest all-natural desserts from innovative NYC startups during a unique dessert pop up event on Saturday, September 8th.
From 12-6pm, guests will come through in one-hour sessions and be treated to the best all-natural desserts and insider startup insight. Featuring cherry pomegranate ice pops, black sesame ice cream, raspberry cilantro sorbet, mango-laced soft serve and more from brands like Brewla Bars, Hint Water, Krumville Bake Shop, SkyIce, Purely Elizabeth, NibMor, The Soft Serve Fruit Co., and Stogo. Lower East Side-born Hint Water is partnering up to provide the refreshments and a portion of proceeds go to Wellness in the Schools.
Guests will get the scoop on what it’s like to launch a startup through Cool Cravings & Hot Startups panels. Each hour features company founders and guest moderators like Huffington Post food editor Rachel Tepper, Whole Foods’ Elly Truesdell and Brand Innovators’ Leiti Hsu. Startup panels will include insider discussions on sourcing local, all-natural ingredients, social media strategy, packaging and design, product development, production and distribution.
The event will also be supporting a great cause! A portion of proceeds go to Wellness in Schools whose mission is to inspire healthy eating, environmental awareness, and fitness in public schools across the country.
Tickets are available for just $20 at http://coolstartups.eventbrite.com/.
The pop up location is Openhouse 379 Broome St. in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood and features a backyard garden.

yumspring is the first-ever virtual incubator for food entrepreneurs. Like a traditional business incubator, yumspring will support food entrepreneurs as they successfully test and develop their boldest, most daring, most inspired concepts. To accomplish this goal, we are harnessing the advantages of social media and crowdfunding to build a platform where fans can give meaningful feedback and ideas, in addition to money, to their favorite food entrepreneurs. We believe that the more engaged someone is, and the more buy-in they have, the greater the chance is that they will want to fund a campaign. Visit us at launch.yumspring.com and apply to be a part of our first harvest, we’re looking forward to seeing your ideas! Or check us out on Facebook and Twitter.
Love AGT :)
