Tis the Season To Give – Giveaway #1

The holidays are fast approaching and we are entering the season to give. The time to think of others – those we know and love and those in need that we have never met.. Of course anytime is a time to give, but we always feel alittle more inclined to give back just a little bit more during the holidays because it’s a time of family and friends, and we want to help those who are without.

Now, more than ever with the impact that Hurricane Sandy has had on the NY/NJ area we are all looking for ways to help. You can buy local products and dine out to support local businesses if you are the NY/NJ area, and you can also visit these websites to find more ways to help:

I have 3 giveways prepared for my fabulous readers and the first one kicks off today! The NYC area has tons of small businesses that were impacted during the hurricane, so today’s giveaway is dedicated to small businesses in Brooklyn, and is sponsered by Moi :) I LOVE buying local when I can!

Bring a little bit of Brooklyn home with you, or share it with someone else :)  Enter for you chance to win:

This giveaway is open to residents in the USA only. To enter you must do both and leave a comment here for each:

“Like” A Girl Travels on Facebook and/or tell me how you like to give back during the holiday season.

Tweet “I just entered the @agirltravels latest #giveaway, you can too!”

The giveaway closes at 11:59pm on November 14, 2012 and the winner will be chosen using random.org. Best of luck to you all and Happy Holidays!

Love AGT :)

We give back by buying Christmas presents for a family in need. We have been blessed and I hope this is a family tradition/service that will continue for years to come. :) Happy Holidays and God bless!

  2. Liked A Girl Travels on Facebook. I usually donate food during the holidays to give back, as well as spend extra time volunteering at my animal shelter to keep animals without families company :)

And ‘Liked’ you to my Facebook!

Also when I give back at holiday times, I usually pic someone in my immediate family to give back to for Christmas. There 9 kids in my family and 7 in my husbands, and there is always someone who needs help. I focused on my brother in law this year, single father of 3. I don’t have much, but I’ve been searching for deals since July so his kids could have at least a modest Christmas.

p.s. I love that you are supporting local companies with your giveaways. Money gets to go into the local economy instead of big box stores. Love it!

  9. I like you on FB. Every year I help with a huge project to do 12 Days of Christmas Giving for 4 families in my community. Although it is a great deal of work, it is the best to see their faces, smiles, tears of joy, and excitement.

  10. I liked your page on facebook. I like to donate food to the food banks for those that do not have food. I also like to donate clothes.

  11. I like to give back at the holidays by volunteering at the church, donating items and having a holiday party for charity. Even if everyone gives $5, it makes a difference at the end of the day. Thanks for doing your part and giving everyone a chance to have a taste of Brooklyn.

  12. Liked & Tweeted! Around the holidays I adopt an angel off the children’s tree and one off the senior’s tree so they’ll know someone is thinking about them during this most special time of year.

  13. I liked your Facebook page. At the holidays, we usually try to get involved with children’s charities by giving toys. It’s a nice way to involve our own kids in the giving. This year, there are several charities needing coats, so I think we may pick up some extras to share.

  14. Liked you on Facebook. I give back all year by volunteering with local food security organizations like our local food bank.
